Jenny came to Robert Hall from Attleborough Baptist Church Nuneaton where she had served for 9 years as minister, following her training at Northern Baptist Learning Community.
During her time as minister the buildings underwent significant redevelopment, as a new entrance porch from the car park, toilets and state of the art kitchen were built, to replace the inadequate facilities of the past!. This was a challenging and demanding project as the plans had to satisfy not only the local planning authority but also the Listed Buildings Advisory committee.
But the many regular community users of the building were suitably impressed, and the improvements provided the church with a new impetus in mission.
During this time the Westcotes Street Pastors team was formed, in conjunction with Nite-lite coffee bar, which opens every Friday from 10.45 pm to the small hours.
Jenny was also involved locally in Churches Together in South West Leicester, and with the Bethany Project, as well as serving on the Baptist Union Council and as a governor of Northern Baptist Learning Community.
Her husband Robert also played an active role in the life of the church, as a leader of Happy Families and also as ‘trouble shooter’ during the building project and for much else.
They retired in 2011, moving to Derbyshire to be nearer to family and friends.
